Trochu Municipal Library unveils new website

Feb. 12, 2019

Trochu Municipal Library is proud to announce the unveiling of their newly redesigned website that features a modern, streamlined design with improved functionality and easy access to up-to-date information to better engage with patrons and the general public.

This website is among the most recent websites to go live as part of a collaboration between Peace Library System and  Marigold Library System – of which Trochu Municipal Library is a member. The website – which was designed by eZ Systems in Norway and content that was custom tailored by Mugo Web based in Vancouver – has been in planning and development for two years and will enable two headquarters operations and a total of 83 public libraries in Alberta to have new and secure websites this year.

According to a Pew Research Study, over 91 percent of people are turning to online resources for information on businesses and services. It is more important than ever, therefore, that information about available library services that enhance and enrich communities are easily available and accessible online.

In turn, Trochu Municipal Library's new state-of-the-art website features a printable event calendar, book lists, filterable eResources lists and acts as an access point to learning tools for all ages. For rural and remote populations who often experience slower internet connection speeds at home, the websites have been developed to optimize viewing and download speeds wherever possible.

Over 1,058 residents in Trochu will benefit from the launch of this project.
